You can grab any kind of coffee grounds as per your liking. You can make the brew, light, moderate or strong. It’s up to you. Plus, turmeric coffee is usually made by boiling method. The boiling method for making coffee is common in the Middle East and Southeast Asia.

If we literally go by its name, you can add about 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder to your plain black coffee per serving. That will work too. If this is up to your alley, you can do this. But if you want to make it how it’s usually made, keep on reading.

It only takes 1.5 teaspoons of turmeric powder to make a delicious turmeric coffee. Other, more involved recipes that can replace meals can be found online, but I am giving you more of a traditional and common way.

How To Make Turmeric Coffee

Here I will tell you two of the simplest ways you can enjoy turmeric coffee.

1. Boiling Method

All you need is;

  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • ¼ teaspoon ginger powder
  • A pinch of black pepper powder
  • A splash of vanilla extract
  • 240 ml of black coffee
  • 80 ml of milk (non-dairy or dairy)
  • Sweetener of your choice

Steps

  • Add everything in a bowl but exclude the coffee. Start doing this when the coffee is brewing. It will take you less than 2 minutes.
  • Let it come to a shimmering point. On a medium-high heat let it simmer for two mins and keep on stirring.
  • After two minutes, pour this mix into your freshly brewed black coffee.
  • Whisk slowly and pour in the mug.
  • Add in your choice of sweetener and serve!

2. Coffee Ground Method

You can make turmeric coffee in one other way which is simple and quick.  Once you decide to brew your cuppa and are grinding your coffee beans to make them into grounds.

You can add ½ teaspoon per serving in the grinding process. The coffee ground will have an impactful flavor of the turmeric and you can brew your coffee however you like.

How Does The Turmeric Coffee Taste?

The addition of turmeric makes the coffee a bit spicy. It gives the normal coffee a spicy kick. You can lower down the kick by adding milk.
