A coffee grinder with conical burrs made of stainless steel is the SHARDOR CG845B. It can grind 2 to 12 cups of beans at once and has 14 different grind settings.

This coffee grinder stands out from the competition because of its particular function.

The Shardor blade coffee grinder with its detachable bowl can be the answer you’re seeking if you want quality and ease.

With so many options, choosing the best grinder for your requirements might be overwhelming.

The good news is that just a small number of them are worth purchasing and provide real value for the features and build quality.

Burr Grinder and Blade Grinder: What is the difference?

The main difference between a burr grinder and a blade grinder is that the burr grinder crushes the beans while the blade grinder chops them up.

Burr grinders are much more expensive, but in return, you should be able to choose the level of fineness you want the coffee ground to be to match your coffee makers.

For the cafeteria, a coarser grind is ideal, while for espresso, an ideal grind is ideal.

The grind must be uniform to get the same output using a burr grinder consistently.

Second, you can only use burr grinders to ground coffee beans since other ingredients risk damaging the discs that crush the beans.

One advantage of a blade grinder is that you may grind various materials, such as nuts, spices, and other items, without harming the grinder or its capacity to ground coffee.

Compared to other grinders of similar kinds and more expensive burr grinders, how does the Shard or blade grinder fare?

Let’s have a closer look.

Design 10/10

Straight out of the box, this grinder seems much more expensive than it is, and you can tell that the designer gave this design a lot of consideration.

The main body may have been created with a single hue and texture.

Nevertheless, they managed to create a style that makes it something you would want to keep on the work desk rather than put away in a cabinet by combining a matt black with a shining piano column that flows through into the lid.

The completed product is the best-looking grinder we have yet to examine since the glass cover lets you see through to the stainless steel bowl where all the grinding takes place.

This will fit nicely into any area of even the most minor kitchen at 9 cm broad and 20 cm tall.

Functionality 10/10

The detachable bowl is by far this grinder’s most attractive feature. Other grinders need you to raise the whole unit to remove the contents from the bottom of the bowl and then transport it to the sink for cleaning and rinsing.

This one has a unique feature where the bowl lifts out and can be completely detached from the base.

You can put the contents into your coffee maker without using a spoon or lifting the whole grinder. It also makes cleaning quite simple.

Put the bowl back on the base after giving it a quick rinse under the faucet. This trait is advantageous.

Some grinders at this price point or a few pounds cheaper come with a 100-watt or 150-watt motor, but this one comes with a 200w watt motor making the grinding overall noise level lower and speed quicker.

It can contain up to 70g of beans at once, a larger maximum capacity than comparable grinders in this price range.

You only need roughly 20g of beans for a double espresso to make seven singles or almost four doubles with only one grind cycle.

Additionally, it has a 105 cm long chord that enables you to bring it into position for grinding even if it is tucked away in a corner without first unplugging it.

However, dare we say it, this grinder delivers quality and consistency of grind that rival some of the more expensive burr grinders.

The biggest drawback of blade grinders is that you cannot achieve a consistent grind and risk getting fragments of bean mixed in since the blades did not adequately capture it.

SHARDOR ELECTRIC COFFEE BURR GRINDER UNBOXING AND REVIEW

Ease of use 10/10

It can only be activated when the lid has been securely fastened, at which point a very little downward pressure starts the grinding process. To halt, release.

Value For Money 10/10

The outstanding feature at this price point is removing the bowl to simplify the coffee transfer to a machine and making cleaning pain-free, making this an easy choice for value and convenience.

Grinding

Grinds are pretty even and consistent compared to burr grinders in this price class.

Grind speed is also comparatively pretty fast. Works reasonably well for brewing methods that require coarse to medium-fine grind size.

This will not do an excellent job for something like Espresso that requires a fine grind.

It makes some noise, but burr grinders often do. It is neither louder nor quieter than other things.

The Bean hopper capacity is 8.8 oz (it does seem to hold a bit less, just under 8 oz), whereas the grounds bin can hold 3.35 oz of grounds coffee.

Grounds bin

The grounds bin is made of plastic, so there’s some static. It doesn’t cause as much mess as other SHARDOR burr grinders we have written about.

Controls

Grind fineness is selected by rotating the bean hopper (the lower the number, the finer the grind), whereas under it, you will find a dial for selecting the number of cups to be ground which also works as a button to start grinding.

Features

The upper conical burr is removable, making it easy to clean (especially with the included brush).

Final Thoughts

  • One of the best affordable burr grinders available is the SHARDOR CG845B.
  • Additionally, it is far superior to other models made by the maker.
  • The SHARDOR CG845B grinds are significantly more effective than a blade grinder, but there is a noticeable taste difference compared to a burr grinder, which is 2-3 times more costly.
  • Its excellent stability on its base and lack of movement when grinding are evidence that the manufacturer considered non-slip from the beginning. Other blade grinders may not always be like this, but this one is.
